can you wear contacts after training, like once you’re just a active duty soldier or whatever do they allow you to wear contacts while doing your daily life on base (jobs, PT, lunch, and whatever else)

I have a friend that joined the air force as soon as she graduated from high school. She wanted to be a jet fighter pilot. But when she took her physical she failed the vision test and was told that wouldn't allow her to go to flight training school for that. She only barely needed glasses and didn't even have glasses as a restriction for driving. But it didn't matter. She was told she could still go to flight training school but for fighter pilot school. She ended up going into school for translating. She came home for a weekend during her 6 weeks of boot camp and I was surprised to see her wearing glasses. She said that by failing the vision test she was then required to wear glasses when she was on duty. Her military glasses were really very ugly. But she was wearing her own glasses when she came home. for the weekend. She said she had gotten used to wearing her glasses to the point that she felt she now needed them all the time. Were you also given military glasses to wear when you took your physical? Were they rather ugly plain looking big bold black plastic framed glasses? Clearly the glasses your wearing in your video aren't the ones the military provided you with because they look very fashionable. In some of your videos your not wearing glasses, would I be right in thinking that you also wear contacts from time to time as well as your glasses? Why have you stopped posting videos?

I have astigmatism and myopia in both eyes, the diopters in my right eye add up To -8 and in my left -7.25. Would I be disqualified at MEPS if I tried to enlist? Just want to know because I’ve always wanted to join, but if my vision is gonna be a barrier I’ll look into getting an ICL eye surgery.
